Modern Warfare 3 was released only five days ago, (Nov. 8), but has sold over 6.5 million copies and has grossed more than $775 million world-wide. It has beaten the first 5 day sales record, previously held by last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops, which had sold $650 million copies.
In France, according to French reports, 2 armed robbers stole 2 trucks containing thousands of copies of the game; worth a total of $1 million. The thugs were reportedly subdued with tear gas and threatened with a handgun.
To date the Call of Duty series has sold over $6 billion world-wide.
